Being up in the Sierras, it really is a huge sandbox playground for photographers. The creative thoughts and plans kick in, and you start to look at the awesome surroundings all around you. Mountains and skies and the overall landscape present so many opportunities to photograph from different views and times of day.
Camping nearby in the Alabama Hills, your view gets drawn to Mt. Whitney as an automatic. So, waking up to photograph the sunrise over Mt Whitney and the surrounding mountain range at 5:30am became the plan on our last day. We captured a lot of great shots as the sun continued to rise. These are the photos I liked the best. All are taken on my Sony A7iii using the new Sigma 28-70 f2.8.
