So much history to see in DC and so many fun shots to photograph! I wasn’t sure how close I would be able to walk up to the Capital building since it was not yet open for tours for another 2 months. Turns out I was able to get up pretty close, as you can see from the pictures below. The last photo I really like since this is the iconic view looking up the middle of the street to the Capital building.
Another favorite spot I stumbled upon was the Navy Memorial, which is in Memorial Plaza. The plaza sits midway between the Capitol and the White House and across the street from the National Archives building (great museum btw!). Memorial Plaza contains these 26 bronze sculptures depicting famous parts of Navy history. In the middle of the plaza is the “Granite Sea” which is the largest map in the world. Really a great area the photograph and visit.
One of the perks of visiting DC on a Monday and Tuesday was that there’s not much traffic at the Museums or just walking around overall. It was super easy, hardly any traffic, to capture the shot below from the middle of the street.
Everything was shot on a Sony A7Riii with my Sigma 28-70 lens
